Turn your computer on and hit F8 constantly with the XP disc in the drive, then select the disk drive to boot from.
Once its loaded accept everything, delete the partition, install clean, also you haven't PM'd me back with what version you need a key for. _____________________

sometimes if they restart instal doesnt work, if you insert the disk while the computer is on and vista is loaded you can get it to reformat and instal xp, give it a try.
P.S. companies need to start sending out the windows disk instead of doing the bullshit partition thing. (personal note) _____________________

the case might be that you need the sata ahci drivers for the hdd, and the are not included in the xp installation disk
so what you have to do is to put the drivers onto a diskette and press F6 if im not wrong, in the beginning of the installation and install them
if you dont have a diskette station you have to merge the drivers into your xp install disc by burning a new one, this is kinda difficult though _____________________

Slipstreaming drivers into an installation can be extremely difficult for someone who doesn't know how to do it.

Do you know how to enter the bios? Some computers might allow for boot options at startup, by usually hitting the f11 or f12 keys. To access the bios try, f1 or f2 or delete keys.
If your positive that the cdrom is your 1st boot device, then try the xp cd in another machine and see if it boots.
if your able to get into the installation, and the XP installation is not able to find your hard-drive. You might need to create a floppy or CD/USB via your motherboard cd, that contains the drivers. |

In order to not make it complicated, just buy another 2.5" hard disk for Windows XP and install it there and then change the old one which you can use as flash drive with 2.5" pocket. _________________ This user's signature has been disabled |
