Hi everyone,
Here is a botting/general question for ya'll, I'm posting here, because it seems the most related.
Here are:
System Specs:
Intel Xeon Dual Core E5450 @ 2.66/2.11Ghz
615MB memory
30gb hdd
Windows Server 2008 r2 x86 DataCenter Edition.
The Plan:
I want to set up a "headless" bot. No graphics, just the bot interface. I've been told this can be done simply with the bot program, however, that's when we hit
The Problem
DII has known compatibility issues with Server 2008, not to mention this is all running in a VM with no compatible graphics driver. Which means, no D3d and only version 1.1 Opengl, that's right, for all this processing power, I can't display anything super graphicy.
Where I'm at
DII Is installed on the VM.
DII attempts to launch, despite not finding a suitable video mode to play in.
Windows Server Complains about the compatibility issues, but allows me to launch the game.
Task Manager Shows both DII.exe and Game.exe both running and using an increasing amount of memory.
I have no graphics, so I have no way to tell if the game launched successfully or....not.
My Question(s):
1.Is directx/opengl truly necessary to launch the game, or does this compatibility issue give me the ability to run headless? If no, see 3.
2. Is DII actually running, if so would a bot find it playable?
3. Is there any workaround to be able to get DII to play on Server 2008 in a headless state?

So I am assuming since you brought up VM this is similar to kukbot? If not what kinda 'headless' bot script is this? You try adding the bot to another account to see if it made game?

| Headless as in, I need to find a way to strip the graphics requirement out of Diablo II or even run in text only mode in an instance where directx is NOT available. I'm looking for some suggestions on how this might be possible. |

I got that you know the spec of your PC very well, not what I am asking though. Is it your own coding? Etal, Kuk, D2nt, etc? _____________________
