According to Blizzard

"We recently issued a round of account suspensions and bans to several thousand Diablo® III players who were in violation of the Battle.net® Terms of Use for cheating and/or using botting or hacking programs while playing. In addition to undermining the spirit of fair play that’s essential to everyone’s enjoyment of the game, botting, hacking, and other such exploitive behavior can contribute to stability and performance issues with the Battle.net service. As always, maintaining a stable, safe, and fun online-gaming experience for legitimate players is a top priority for us, and we'll be continuing to keep watch on Battle.net and take action as needed."

They missed several thousand more than they got, and that'll be the story until the decline of D3.

There are no mentions of bans on either the VS forums or demonbuddy forums so I have no idea who got hit. My accounts are still green

Edit: Seems some people using the knockoff hellbuddy got nailed

Well that's good.
I'm sure it would be almost impossible to get EVERY SINGLE botter in the game, but as many as you can get, that's great.

I was really looking forward to this game to be a little harder to bot on (at least take a few months for the first program) but apparently people were working hard to crack this game.

I just want to play legit and have fun, whats fun about botting on a BRAND NEW game?

Not praising the d3 botting community, but I know for a fact that anyone that was planning on botting and started botting within the first week of release with Immortal has made enough to buy a car with 1 account running 1/2 a day. I still don't know if they are banning accounts only or more, but a d3 cd key isnt or atleast wasn't hard to pay off for them.

If blizzard goes down the right path then in the future I'm sure they'll make contracts with vpn companies and IP ban. Maybe even ISP companies, but I doubt it.

edit: no, you can't make that much money from botting anymore. The good spots are nerfed and the public bots aren't advanced enough. Currently plsying the game regularly earns more money than botting
