I think it was like this a long time ago. But people who got negative rep got angry
and threatened to leave the site. So it was changed to the current system

Reputation is basically the level of trust on this forum, with amount of successful trades.
The negaitve reputation wouldn't help this, simply because every e-feud where people didn't like one another would- rep each other, even if it has nothing to do at all with trust
For example, if it Rowe were still unlocked and untagged, he would probably -rep shak, because he doesn't like him. Does this mean Shak isn't trusted because some e-faggot -reped him? No. |

im new here, but i would not suggest a up/down kind of thing if it is meant to be given for trades. i know as a new member who wants to become more trusted it is kind of hard, but i would rather earn good rep then just be able to give whenever.

I'm new as well, but from my experience so far, the reputation number can be misleading. Higher number doesn't necessarily mean positive reputation, so I can see how this might be a good idea.
