I play on the US HC servers.
Here's my character sheet on DiabloProgress:

I don't use Near Death Experience as you can see. I feel that it's one of the shittier versions of the "free death" skill of the different classes. Pacifism, on the other hand will always be mandatory when playing HC inferno mp2+. When you get frozen/jailed you will take effectively nil dmg and regenerate health if you have health regen. It is the most common way for HC players to die from my experience--get frozen/jailed in 2/3 desecrators and plague stacks or a bunch of arcanes rip right across. However, with pacifism, you WANT to be jailed, as you can still fight but get pretty much a free immunity. Frozen, you can just watch your monk tank 3 desecrators like a 100mil EHP barb.
TL,DR: NDE sucks, pacifism 2nd best skill in game (best is WD's spirit vessel) for HC mode
As on gearing, I prefer to dual wield (DW) over 1h+shield for general farming. Shield is mandatory in A2 mp3+ due to those fucking wasps. If I'm running mp5/6 ubers, I'll toss a shield on as well just to make sure I don't die in a less than ideal group setup. |

Wow awesome post. I'll definitely keep it in mind if I play HC. Right now I only play SC cuz my connection isn't the best and I'm sure I'll die from lag. |

Yep, check out the wave of light (the bell slam attack) buff... it's definitely a game changer for monks. |
