mining is free, yes and a legit way to earn BTC but anyone interested should research it first.
I know it uses a lot of your computers resources, puts stress on your video card while mining.

also, it's my understanding that unless you're part of like a mining block group or have a pc built for mining it's not worth the power costs and load on your pc.
