I am online a few times per day...
As for the site being torn apart think back to about 8 months ago when the site was DEAD with less than 10 "regulars"...
I brought my buds here and a few allied guilds and then it got pretty active again. Then blizzard did that mass account ban and alot of people said screw d2 period. Also due to the trading activity and some rando assholes and senior mods with napoleon complexes the site is once again going south.
I have done my part with about 200+ people brought to this site, and I still try to recruit more when I can but even I can understand why people give up and dont come back cause theres a bunch of immature little pricks here who post silly shit in the Battlefield over and over as well... |
"Sacrifice the company of many, for the fun of a few." Trez, and a lot of these other guys, are flat out selfish. They could care less about attracting new members, they'd rather have a forum with a buncha useless spam/ect.

and what do YOU bring to the site? all you care about is your own clan, which can hardly be called "generous". i have preserved free expression in the battlefield and i do everything i can do make sure that the rest of the staff follow proper procedure instead of dishing out warns and bans willy nilly.
a sound community will be built on a tradition of openness and fairness; what you advocate is to sacrifice long term accountability for a short term convenience. sure, in the short term maybe there are merits to what you say. but those who have seen the fate of certain other sites without such traditions know it is not something to be desired in the long run. i understand if you are incapable of seeing this, as you are, after all, a mentally challenged individual. but the next time you open your mouth to whine, first consider what you yourself have done to contribute to the situation.
sure it's convenient to ban people who are being a pain in the ass, and to let the other moderators do the same, but what kind of atmosphere does that create? sure it's easy to stifle criticism and dissent by doing away with the battlefield, but at what cost? think about it, mr smarty guy.

long term thinking will beat out the short term in the end
