uhhh first of all, u can google guides to help editting/making maps

The way i started to do it is, DL a few maps that have the same type of gameplay, if its micro, defense, wars, etc. and open it up with staredit or any advanced map editor. From there on, go to the different menus on the top of the screen and click on each one to figure out hands on how to make different things. The hardest thing you'll probably have to figure out is Triggers, and its not THAT hard. Because when u make a new trigger, there will be a dropdown menu for u to choose and then there are different blue things u can change values for

Best way to learn is to fool around in the map editor. Make maybe 50 bad maps to test random aspects, such as triggers or units, then finally go on to make a normal playable map.
