The concept of a time machine is solid, free movement through the fourth dimension.
However the achievement of this feat is nothing to be scoffed at, many believe it to be impossible as it is probable that a message would be sent back in time with a message of success concerning a working time machine, however it is also possible that once we have discovered the technology to move through time Earth no longer exists or it's location has long since been lost...
It's also safe to assume that we wouldn't meddle with the past... of course this can't hold the argument that it there could be bodies of people that would violate this law/promise/oath readily as a sign of rebellion or by altering the past to strengthen their body and weaken their enemies. |

So the truth of the matter is that we would only be able to travel back in time to the time that the first time machine was working.

Exactly what i always thought. such as on cartoons or science fiction they go back and time and the time machine is already there.

| I think time machines could work. I read that you say that we couldn't go back in time far enough because the machine wouldn't exist, but what if it were like the movies, where the whole machine actually moved through time with you? Anything is possible I suppose, they're already recreating the big bang, and it worked. |
