Well, what's your budget?

$0-$50 : HD4650 or 9500GT
$50- $100: HD4670, HD4770*, HD4830*
$100-$150: HD4850*, HD4870* 512mb or 1GB
$150- $250: GTX260+* or HD4890*

* = keep in mind you may need a PSU upgrade

I would definitely get the 4890 for sure, well, if you have money. 1000mhz core clock OC beats the gtx285 in some tests.

Yeah but the performance/ price ratio is smaller than that of HD4850. 4850 is better than a 8800GT (9800GT) and yet they're almost identical in price.

yah i think i seen a cheap 4850 1gb on tigerdirect... not sure... i'll look tomorrow and try to find it.. maybe it was the 512... or maybe it wasn't even tigerdirect but i do remember coming across one for pretty cheap... 4850 is good for the price compared to others of its price tag

I found a 4850 for $99. If money is a problem, I wouldn't get the 1GB version because it's not gonna help performance at all unless you want to play at like 1900x1200 resolution.

if that was the case they wouldn't be popular among a lot of avid computer enthusiast nor would they be one of the best out. it's personal opinion... im not saying nvidia sucks just sayin i prefer ati atm

besides, im prolly gettin the GTX 295 with this new build im starting to order next month... been using radeon for a bit... wanna try somethin new and the 295 is one of the best out right now... i have a 4850 atm thought about the 4870 X2 2gb or a 4890 but idk yet... 4850 is still gud anyways i just want another comp and im giving this one to my wife for personal use i guess

edit: justl ike i prefer amd over intel... w/ computers its all personal preference and wut u want out of ur comp
