h/u - heads up 1 vs 1. you both start with 2k chips and the one who wins all the chips wins...
a/i - all in 1 vs 1. again start with 2k chips on first set of cards dealt you go a/i with all ur chips. this you can play winner wins or loser wins. pretty much like flip of coin. i usally play loser wins cause i never win a/i. i only do a/i if i want to give fg to someone or when trying to find welchers.
don - double or nothing. this normally is played 4man don. i have seen on poker stars they offer 6man don. which i find funnier. the more people the more winners. when i play for $ i play 10man don. 10 people enter 5 win the other 5 lose. don is an easier one of the all due to its not you vs someone.
just a tip for everyone. "you don't have to play every hand!"
i can't force this enough. I have lost a lot of games and a lot of $ due to I love to get in the game. I like to play every hand I am dealt. But a tip if ur dealt crap cards example 2 9 off suit. i don't bother playing them. hardly ever does it win. and if you play 2 9 vs say another person and neither one of you have anything then it comes down to bluffing and high card. thats why ur best off to fold crap cards till you get cards that sound good to you.
