The NFL draft will start in 2 days. The NFL draft is probably the most anticipated and most analyzed draft in all of sports. Why? Hardcore football fans know that the draft can make or break your team. A lot of strategies come into play before, during, and after the draft. Before the draft, scouts from every team have been observing and taking notes of every college players that they believe has potential. These players are later invited to the combine where they are tested on their skill sets. During the drafts you will see many teams trading spots, move up the draft to get certain players, or move down the draft to get more money/picks. If you have ever done a live fantasy draft with your friends, you know how exciting it is. For me at least I have my list that I make up every year with players I like, players to stay away from and sleepers. Last year I picked up Miles Austin off of waivers, and ended up winning the league because of him. I love seeing underdogs coming out on top. Best example is Tom Brady who was drafted 199th overall, and now has 3 superbowl rings. Some of my favorite players were undrafted Antonio Gates, Wes Welker, and Miles Austin. As the draft begins I will update my thoughts and opinions on the draft, my likes and dislikes. Feel free to express your thoughts and feelings as the draft goes on.

My teams: Chargers, 49ers, Packers
Teams to fear(have all the pieces just need 3-4 more impact players): Saints, Colts, Patriots, Dallas, Jets, Vikings
Teams that have potential: Giants, Redskin, Titans, Ravens, Bears. Steelers, Falcons

Thoughts on round 1
My likes:
1) Buffalo Bills 9th pick--> CJ Spiller- The best back in this draft by far.
2) Tennessee Titans 16th pick--> Derrick Morgan- The most complete defensive end in the draft.
3) Dallas Cowboys 24th pick--> Dez Bryant- Probably the biggest steal of the first draft.
4) New York Jets 29th pick--> Kyle Wilson- Jets defense just gets better and better.
5) Detroit Lion 30th pick--> Jahvid Best- Between Mathews at 12th or Best at 30th, I’d take Best.

My dislikes:
1) Washington Redskins 4th pick--> Trent Williams- There has been questions about his commitment. Why take the risk with your 4th pick?
2) Oakland Raiders 8th pick--> Rolando McClain- They probably could have traded down for him.
3) San Diego Chargers 12th pick--> Ryan Mathews- They reached way too early for him. Had they waited, they probably would have gotten him at 28th.
4) Denver Broncos 25th pick--> Tim Tebow- Why pick a quarterback when you have Kyle Orton?

Thoughts on round 2
My likes:
1) New England Patriots 42th pick--> Rob Gronkowski- A very solid tight end.
2) Baltimore Ravens 43th pick--> Sergio Kindle- A versatile defensive player that can play many positions. He was projected to be drafted in the first round. Good steal.
3) Carolina Panthers 48th pick--> Jimmy Clausen- Panthers needed a quarterback and ended up with the second best quarterback of the draft at 48. Good deal in my opinion.
4) San Francisco 49ers 49th pick--> Taylor Mays- A good size free safey out of USC.
5) Seattle Seahawks 60th pick--> Golden Tate- My favorite pick of the second round. Getting Tate here was a steal, this guy can return kicks, has good hands, very physical, good yardages after the catch, and is a threat whenever he touches the ball.

My dislikes:
1) Philadelphia Eagles 37th pick. My issue isn't the player who was picked but what they gave up to get the 37th pick, Donovan McNabb. McNabb is a proven quarterback who has tons of playoff experience which is a rare commodity.

Denver made a smart move taking Tebow in my opinion.

The kid definitely has some potential.

Ya I'm not doubting Tebow's skills, he will probably go down as the best college quarterback in history, but I believe they could have gotten him much later in the draft. Round 1 picks are full of high impact players that Denver could have really used. But who knows Tebow might get his chance this season and prove everyone wrong. Everyone loves an underdog.

Yeah, for sure.

Exactly, underdogs almost always end up on top.

I like rooting for the underdogs too ;P

Final thoughts on NFL draft. These are the teams I thought benefited most from the draft.
1) Seattle Seahawks- This draft has just put Seattle back into playoffs contention. They improved greatly on offensive with LenDale White, Leon Washington, Golden Tate, and Russel Okung. They also got Earl Thomas who is already being compared to Ed Reed.
2) Detroit Lions- This team has been the joke of the league for years, but not anymore. They got more physical on defense with Ndamukong Suh, Amari Spievey, and Willie Young and now they have a running option with Jahvid Best.
3) Baltimore Ravens- This team traded down and still ended up with high quality picks with Sergio Kindle, Terrence Cody, and Ramon Harewood. They also got more weapons for Joe Flacco with Anquan Boldin, Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta.
4) Dallas Cowboys- The road to the superbowl goes through Dallas stadium this year. Jerry Jone knows this and will do whatever it takes to get there. They got an offensive threat with Dez Bryant and got better on defense with Sean Lee, Akwasi Owusu_ansah, Jamar wall, and Sean Lissemore. Look for more trades from Dallas for days to come, Jerry Jones will be going all in this season.
5) Oakland Raiders- Raiders who have been known to draft bust players, have done surprising well this season. They improved their offensive line with Edwin Veldheer and Bruce Campbeel and spent the rest of their draft greatly improving their defense with Rolando McClain, Lamarr Houston, Walter McFadden, Travis Goethel, Jeremy Ware, and Steven Brown.
