I just bought a new car, 02 Ford Taurus. Ya its a Ford.

It has stock 9007 headlights. I am thinking of wanting to change the headlights with brighter ones any reccomends and does anyone know about the wattages on them like does it matter? I see lots of headlights are like 55/60 or something like that.

I bought a HID conversion kit bi-xenon on ebay and it didn't work. The passenger side worked great but the driver side would come on for like half a sec then flick off.

I would like something bright like HID, id like a blue tint to the color, and I would like to be able to keep my High/Low Beams. HID with 9007 blubs you lose a beam and only have 1 level beam.

Let me know what you think and reccomend. My $ limit max ill put $80 as my max limit.

As for these 3 sites, I said budget limit was $80 max. Those sites are wanting over $100.

I said I want a light and color like HID but not HID. I don't want to lose my high/low beam. I am thinking of just going with SilverStar Ultra from AutoZone for $50

I went to walmart all they have is the I believe was 4000k light bulbs silverstar. I am thinking I want silverstar ultra it is I believe 5100k bulbs. I want as bright as can be. The people in my town either have bright lights, HID lights or are old and drive with their high beams on even during the day.

10% of the people on the road are normal and keep it stock. the rest do something thats brighter than low beam stock.

I am trying to do like I did with my 02 Civic where my low beams were the same as people's high beams and they would flash at me so I would flash my high beams back and then it would let them know to shut it.

Thx.

I am still just wondering if anyone knows anything about the wattage on car headlights. I believe stock and most headlights I look at are 55/60 or 55/65. HID are like 95/105.

Just trying to get any kind of input on the wattage info. I know energy bulbs for house are like 20 or 30 watt or something = to the same power of a normal 60 watt bulb. less energy more light.

remember to check your local ordinances and state ordinances. in my area we are not allowed to have neon lights or high intensity halogen.

other than that give ebay a look through if wal mart or the others dont have it.. maybe check napa or advance auto's website
