anyone know of a good program software whatever i could download or use to watch avi files? I am ripping movies still in theaters and the good ones are avi files.

also mp4 but i believe my ipod does mp4 so the mp4s i would put on my ipod for movies on the go...


i am going on vacation in oct and need to rip me some movies to watch on the plane trips.

Why not just use windows media player?

If you can't use it then you probably don't have the DivX codecs installed.

VLC is the best one and ALSHOW is a decent one too.
Make sure you have all codecs liek Myoga said.

i have the divx codec installed. and windows media either doesn't want to play with me or on one movie it wants to play but doesn't give picture. just the sound and stuff like music...

VLC is free and plays EVERYTHING and there are versions for every OS
