Now that the preseason is over, time to start my predictions:
NFC East--> New York Giants- This is a team no one is talking about, I grantee this team will make some noise in the playoffs.
NFC North--> Green Bay Packers- I think Aaron Rodgers will not only win the offensive player of the year, but he’ll be hands down the best player in the NFL. With a more experienced offensive line, look for crazy numbers from Rodgers.
NFC South--> Atlanta Falcons- I think the Falcons will steal the division from the Saints, I’m expecting the Falcons to run the ball and teams not being able to stop them.
NFC West--> San Francisco 49ers- Love their defense, like their run game, happy about their schedule, but don’t know about their quarterback.
NFC Wild Card #1--> Dallas Cowboys- Weakness= offensive line and penalties.
NFC Wild Card #2--> New Orleans Saints- Everything went prefect for this team last year, big plays on offensive, big plays on defense, big plays on special teams, I wouldn’t be surprised if they Saints miss the playoffs this year.
AFC East--> New England Patriots- With a healthier Brady and a healthy Welker, in addition to new younger players, don’t count out the Patriots.
AFC North--> Pittsburgh Steelers- I predict that the Steelers will have a better defensive team then the Jets.
AFC South--> Indianapolis Colts- Colts will do what they always do, get out to a quick start as the rest of the leagues plays catch up.
AFC West--> San Diego Chargers- Hold outs will bite the Chargers some where along this season.
AFC Wild Card #1--> New York Jets- I love their off season acquisitions and think they’ve gotten better offensively and defensively. Now all they need is their best defensive player…
AFC Wild Card #2--> Baltimore Ravens- I never thought I would say this, but I’m more worried about their defensive then their offensive.
End of the Year Awards predictions:
MVP--> Aaron Rodgers
Offensive Player--> Aaron Rodgers
Defensive Player--> Patrick Willis
Rookie Offensive Player--> Ryan Mathews
Rookie Defensive Player--> Rolando McClain
Comeback Player--> Wes Welker
Coach--> Mike Singletary
Super Bowl Prediction--> Green Bay Packers vs San Diego Chargers
Winner: Green Bay Packers

Thoughts so far through week 15
Teams that didn't surprise me.
Atlanta Falcons- I picked this team to win the division because i knew they would be able to run and throw the ball. This is probably the most balance team in football right now and with home field advantage through out the playoffs this will be one tough team.
New England Patriots- Even after the Jets beat the Patriots in the first match up I knew the Patriots were still going to win the division. I'll take Tom Brady over Mark Sanchez any day of the week. This team does not turn the ball over and they have not missed a beat since trading Randy Moss.
Philadelphia Eagles- I did not pick the Eagles to make the playoffs, but I did not think Michael Vick would be quarterback, not yet atleast. I was lucky enough to stash Vick in my fantasy league knowing that his number would be called and boy was I rewarded. Vick is a nightmare match for any team, his ability to break lose for 30 yard runs, his ability to throw 50 yarders to Desean Jackson, and his ability to scramble to make something out of nothing. No team wants to see Vick in the playoffs, atleast the Giants don't after they watch Vick bring back the team from 21 down with 10 minutes to go.
Pittsburgh Steelers- When you think Steelers you think of defense, this isn't a team that will wow you on offensive. I really like the Steelers, but I don't think they have enough fire power to match up with the Patriots, Colts or Chargers. |

Teams that just got unlucky
Dallas Cowboys- It all started from the play against the Washington Redskins, where instead of taking a knee into the second half, they decided to run a play where Choice fumbles the ball and the Redskins take it back the other way for a score. Once it looked like finally they might make a run, Romo goes out for the season with a broken collar bone. To my surprise under Jason Garret this team looks like the Dallas Cowboys again, even without their star quarterback.
Greenbay Packers- My superbowl winner pick. If losing your number one running back the first game and your go to tight end wasn't bad enough, they lose Rodgers to a concussion. Had everyone been healthy I would have felt really confident about my pick. They have a great defense that just lacked a run game.
San Diego Chargers- This team will need the Chiefs to lose at home, if they want to make the playoffs. I promise you this no team wants to see the Chargers make the playoffs. As long as the Chargers don't kill themselves on special teams this team can play with anyone.
Indianapolis Colts- This team will most likely win out their games and make the playoffs. Another team who has been hit by the injury bug losing their number one running back and tight end, not to mention their wide receivers. Manning is doing the best he can with what he has. I will not count this team out if they end up making the playoffs. |

Teams that surprised me
The whole NFC West- Man whatever team get to play one of this teams in playoffs sure is lucky because it seems like none of NFC West wants to go.
Chicago Bears- I didn't expect to see them as the division leader. With great special teams play and defense this team has made some noise. I still don't completely trust the run game or Cutler, but they are winning and thats all that matters.
New Orleans Saints- I was down on them at the beginning of the year because I thought the superbowl hang over would get them, but I've been impress. This team finds ways to win and with Drew Brees at quarterback, they are in good hands.
Jacksonville Jaguars- How they got up to this point? Maurice Jones Drew. This guy is an animal and with teams stacking the run it helps set up play action all day. If the Jaguars had a better defense, this team would have already been in the playoffs and the Colts would be sitting home right now.
Kansas City Chiefs- Jamaal Charles is averaging 6.4 yards a carry. 6.4! The Chiefs can run the ball or go deep to Dwayne Bowe at any time as long as they have Matt Cassel as their quarterback. With two games left at home, I think that the Chiefs will be the new 2010 division leader. |

AFC Wild -Card Round
#6 New York Jets vs #3 Indianapolis Colts
My pick--> Indianapolis Colts
Peyton Manning at home, it is a late night game and they are not playing the Chargers. No way is Peyton losing this game. The stage is getting set for the classic Indianapolis Colts vs New England Patriots and the winner goes to the superbowl.
#5 Baltimore Ravens vs #4 Kansas Chiefs
My pick--> Kansas Chiefs
Chiefs can and will run the ball. I predict that the Chiefs will dominate the time of possession and make the Ravens defense gas out by the fourth quarter. Chiefs will protect the ball and forcing turnovers. I think the homefield advantage will be the x factor for this game, I expect it to be loud real loud. |

NFC Wild-Card Round
#5 New Orleans Saints vs #4 Seattle Seahawks
My pick--> New Orleans Saints
The only advantage the Seahawks has is their special teams and the home crowd, but that isn't enough to match Drew Brees and the high powered saint's offense. By far the easiest first round opponent the Saints could ask for.
#6 Greenbay Packers vs #3 Philadelphia Eagles
My pick--> Greenbay Packers
I like the Packers defense, i like it a lot. The Eagles will go as far as Michael Vick takes them. If he can move up and down the field he will need to use both his legs and arms. The Eagles are all about big plays, if the Packers can get to Vick and not let him escape then Packers will win this game easily. |
