I think if everybody is treated as "equals" in this country then yes gat marriage should be acceptable and not frowned upon. People have the right to love and spend time with whoever they want, male or female. That doesn't make them any less of a person at all.. Anyone who isn't ashamed of there sexual preferance I respect.

I see no problem with it.
But marriage should be kept between male/female.

within the next 5-10 years it will be confirmed that homosexuality is genetic, and unless you want to stop retards/autistics/downsyndrome people from getting married, there is absolutely zero logical basis to ban homosexual marriage because it is nothing other than a genetic defect. sounds harsh, but more evidence is pointing to genetic evidence/in vivo variables that affect the phenotype of the developing embryo.
after all, we are already able to produce gay mice at will. marriage should be a non debatable issue.
the actual interesting topic should be should gay parents be allowed to adopt children? that changes the game completely because our society hasn't reached the point where gays let alone gay parents are totally accepted, so you are almost definitely compromising the child's development to an extent (the child will have to deal with a shitload of social pressures that no hetero parent child would have to deal with). |

really who cares if they say there married or whatever they do being married is nothing more then both people saying they live togetehr/share everything
as for the adoption part the person giving up the child should have at least some rights to what type of family it goes to. as for if its a child that the parent abadioned it who cares as long as its determined to be a good home for the child ( aka they can afford to give the child there own room food ect ) |

well right now there is a bias in adoption for reasons other than economic circumstances. A black couple with the same income as a white couple will get the child less than 1/3 of the time. My ex gfs mom works with an adoption society and told us this. A white couple with less income than a black couple will also get the child more frequently. I don't find that right at all.
However I am not against this social bias with gays adopting because at this point in our nations time there would be huge additional stresses on both the child and the parent. Maybe in a decade the country will be more accepting of gays, thus gays adopting wouldn't be a huge issue |

the real issue here is do they get all the LEGAL RIGHTS as "men+women Married"
(benefits, tax breaks so on...)
they should recieve equal Legal rights.

marriage isnt a religious thing unless you choose to make it as such...
marriage is the combination of two lives in the legal system... e.g taxes, bills, etc.
you give marriage this huge symbolic gesture when really it is nothing more than saying "yes, i want to combine my life with my lovers for the rest of our days".... why does this have to mean male and female... as far as i am concered its a violation of our bill of rights to even have this debate..
SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.. marriage is a state thing, thats why you can go to the justice of the peace and get a marriage certificate. for them to try and say that it isnt allowed because the bible or any other religious reason means they are breaking freedom of religion and the seperation of church and state.
If i was a gay person looking to get married to someone of the same sex and ANY state told me no... i would sue the fuck out of that state...
As for gay adoption:
anyone that would rather have a child sit in the adoption system being pushed from broken home to broken home, never really feeling the love of a family and always feeling like livestock deserves to be shot. shall i bring up some wonderful past cases of how well parenting went with opposite sex parents?
