Burying the bastard at sea is of religious beliefs, it would been a breach in what Americans believe in. Thus, causing more of an uproar then what already occurred.
They won't release anything to anyone, because it's all sensitive information. You'd understand the reasons for this if you were in the military like myself. Everything and anything is sensitive in relation to terrorism/most wanted humans.

agree with all the points to SOME degree but there is rational for all of those points. saddam was the president of a country who didn't really inspire a generation of terrorists, unlike osama. saddam's death did nothing to impact the world significantly while osama's could galvanize the entire generation of terrorists he himself created. if there are indeed pics with gunshot wounds to his head, they should not be released.

the troops are still there because:
1. if they were all to come back to america there would be a lot less jobs than already exist. it keeps a lot of people employed
2. america now has invested interests in the region (which you can agree or disagree with but that's the case)
why troops are in afghanistan is a pretty logical conclusion. terrorists from X region bomb your country, you to go X region and killl the terrorists. that's something a lot of leaders would do. the real question and rose thorn is why are troops still in Iraq after it has been proven over the past 5 years there was no justifiable reason for entering the country in the first place (besides bush/chenney making a shitload of money).
you got me on the DNA tests, but neither of us are in the US government and I can't imagine they would forfeit all their knowledge to the public with nothing to gain.
