anyone here know how or have had experience with removing and upgrading a laptop's CPU with ofcoarse the same socket chip. anyway I have a laptop with an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-56 cpu and i was wondering if it was possible to put the TL-66 or TL-68 in it. is it even possible to remove the CPU, i mean older laptops had the cpu soldered on the board, but now days i dont know.

any help would be appreciated, or a link to a guide would be cool.

oh I the laptop is a compaq presario F557CL, most people tell me just to buy a new laptop with more power, but why spend a ton of 1300 bucks on a new laptop if all thats changed is the CPU and HDD capacity, I can get the TL-66 for $65 and the TL-68 for $90 bucks, because they are used and im in the family so i get a discount...hehe! briggrin
