id like to just say i have no problem what so ever with the advisor tag i really think its a good idear i just think you need to get members that have already shown that they want to help and proven themselves in the past the postion i understand that yannic may be as a test position but see it from others point of view if you was trading and somebody said i want a medi and you didnt know him would you really what him involved?? and why should somebodys money be put at risk so he can prove himself as a test?
i know straight away if i had trade going and somebody got him to mediate that would put me off altogether and would probly cause me to not trade .
at the end of the day its up to the higher staff//admin to decide i just dont want to see this site loosing more people because of decisions like this

Yeah I agree with what Cory said earlier, Greg might be doing a fantastic job, but next to none of the active members here know who he is, and all of a sudden gets tagged.
I'm just sure the members would have liked to see a familiar name get the position instead.

When all comes down to it, it'll be the staff's decision who is chosen. That fact can, unfortunately, not be changed.
However, it will always be the users' responsibility to suggest members for this position. This was the initial idea - and the reason why there are only 2 helpers when we go live with this shit. I was expecting you all to be positive and start thinking of other users who could be valuable in such a position - instead - you're all mad about who is in such a position. Do you see the irony in that? We make a new thing on the forums to promote activity and get more peeps interested, but instead, everyone that [i]should/i] be interested gets all mad and stuff. I do not see the productivity in that
If it is a great idea - why don't you act your part on it? I do apologize, if the announcement was too vague on that part - but I had hoped it was self explanatory.
And lastly, let us get this out of the way:
Picking users on this site is extremely hard. Mods you thought could be trusted has scammed - users you thought trustworthy, has scammed. Everyone and their mother have scammed. Therefore, we've been extra careful in choosing the first 2 guys - just as careful as you will find us looking over any other application or suggestion. I don't see why you'd think otherwise.
And again:
I'd like this suggestion the other way around: You suggest people for the spot and we take the executive decisions

I don't know where you get these things, friend. I wanted to do a good thing, you see. I wanted to start afore mentioned "good thing" small - instead of inviting 5 guys and losing 2. So yes, we were extra careful in who we chose and how we made the decisions.
Let me say something else, before I retort to the rest of your post: I feel as if something in the announcement has been lost in the translation. I will, of course, fix this and you should see an update regarding that soon enough.
Also, I feel as if this kind of discussion isn't working very well. There's not been much constructive feedback, only hatemail (or something along those lines).. So who are we listening to? The 5 angry guys or what? Do not take this wrongly, I am just making an observation.
And to the whole "deserves it" - who are you to decide who deserves what? Half these new users see what you do, specifically you, Cory, but that is all. We see everything else. About everyone - so why did we chose these two guys? Well, maybe they were the "safest"? I know you won't admit it, but please, if you in any way feel wronged, you are invited to talk to me about it and I will explain.
I'm not sure I would trust an open poll (the example being the polish section) and I'm not sure I believe that most of the users on here realize who "deserves it". Likewise, I am not entirely sure they know exactly what they want - except for, probably, a copy cat d2jsp site with trusted tags, mediators and etc ( it is a given, that people prefer recognizable stuff). These are observations I've made, of course.
