I have 2gb because that is more then any game needs atm and for near future. Anything higher will show difference only on high end games (d2 doesnt count at all). I plan to upgrade to 4gb maby some time in 09.

cool! as soon as the dang college throws out its older computers, im gonna see how many i can grab from them, not to use, but to set it up so i can do network renderings, probably wont happen till middle of 09. will use even more electricicty, but my current 10ghz with a few 2.8ghz will really speed things up.

ya... so you wont be able to play games like DOOM3 or any of the newest games... your ganna have tp buy a whole new computer if you want to play those games lol cause you can't upgrade a mac.... GET A PC! a pc with 5 times power pf mac is 2 times cheaper lol

And, ouch, i have upgraded my mac, it's not impossible, not nessecery either always..
Pc, is 3 times slower.. mac expensivier, because, they don't make bad or only half good computer that requiers uppgrades..
Never needed to "fix" my mac since it's never been broken..

... your wayyyyy uninformed... btw... that 1pc = 3mac thing is actually pc=3.546mac... its derived from this equation using economy, usefull ness, servisable parts, blah blah blah... the euqations has like at least 30 variables... i didn't make it up... its the truth lol...

By the way Doom 3 takes 512MB VRAM on the highest quality setting. I do not think that a Mac is better than a PC or vice versa. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Why do people insist on comparing comps by doom and quake and other rehashed fps games? Want to give your comp a real workout load up civ 3 on a giga map with 11 ai players in the industrial age or later...will make a p4 3gig machine with 2 gigs of ram let you have a smoke break while the ai moves...

because they are the most graphics intensive games so far... plus the texture on doom3 requires alot of ram from full quality
