The thing about Starter Desks is they are ALL good decisions for beginners and advanced players alike. They all come with the basic core elements of that saga released. That's how I like to refer to every release made, as a different saga. My favorites being Tempest, Invasion and Eldrazi!
The thing is with all starter decks you will need much improvement, if I actually took the time to look at all your cards in that deck I could drastically improve it.
I'm sure by now you know there's lots of Elements to choose from and master
My favorite being being Plains / Forests (depending on which deck I am using)
My long time friends favorite is Fire / Swamp
A lot of people love Water though because some people LIVE to say "counter" "ohh counter" "ohh I draw cards and counter urs" |

I was told I bought the current builders kit late, so in a couple months it will be outdated and I won't be able to use most of the cards in standard games.
So I purchased a event deck that will last the next year or so. |
