If you consider that it costs $1 for 50fg here, and $1 for 25 fg at d2jsp, then our current currency ratio is WAY off. If an item costs 100fg on d2jsp, then logically it should cost 200fg here, right?
SO I believe that our price guide should take into consideration that the fg is 1/2 as expensive on this site.
For example, people are complaining that there are no hr's, and have been placing Iso Threads for them forever. The highest I have seen for a Hr is 500fg. Well if you apply the fg ratio, the normal price for a hr on this site should be 600fg for Jah/Ber and 650 for Ohm/Lo. Otherwise it would just encourage ppl to buy the runes here and take them to d2jsp.
If you want to encourage site traffic, then don't make the same mistakes they did at d2jsp. The value of fg MUST be regulated correctly, otherwise the site looses credibility and people lose interest. Things such as occy's for example. Last season when I was on d2jsp I saw occy's go for 10 fg 4 weeks after ladder reset. That's ridiculous. There wasn't a flood of them either, people were waiting around for occy's. But just because some guy sees another person sells it for cheaper he automatically assumes that it has dropped in price. If you hold on to your high lvl items like this, ppl will need it. And if they want it they are going to have to pay. I have been mfing for 5 weeks now, still haven't found an occy. They don't just rain from the heavens. It is the definitive weapon for a sorc, yet it is downplayed like trash. Even if you go for a eschuta's or something, the stats have to be high or you aren't buying it right? Well out of all my mfing, I have found 1 Eschuta's, and yes the stats happened to be high, but if not it would be worthless. And Dupers only dupe the higher lvl items, so instead of basing our fg value off of how much duped hr's are worth, maybe truly base it off of all the key factors.
People also buy items and sell them in online shops. So if items are whored out, you can make a profit by simply buying fg and selling the hot items you buy online for cash.
And where does all this leave our botters and mfer's.. out in the cold. Their items are worth next to nothing so most give up after a while.
Sorry for the rant, just a lot of things I have been thinking about.
Thoughts?
