Require a "real working" email and to verify it ( click a link thats sent in email)
this would cut back on multi's because they would ahve to make new emails etc etc

and b4 they clicked that link , treat them as a guest (ex : no posting rights only veiwing , cant click linkss or w.e tramway decides)

i think itd be a good idea.

because ive noticed some major multis ( crai )
he musta made 10 accts yesterday and spammed on them .

what you all think?

I voted yes but it wouldn't really help because there are sites that make random emails automatically all you do is copy-paste the email name and pw and login for the email and click the link then never use that email again.

The only way it would help is if people got too lazy to make new emails.

yes true , but really if u make alot of emails just to make a multi on the site / spam it
then theres some serious issues with them lol.

ty for input smile

edit : its not 100 % fool proof , but will stop some briggrin

I know a crapload of people who multi on jsp and make like 5 accounts per day using the email generator.

I agree they must be hella bored or have problems but like you said it will cut down most of the people who multi.

Uhmm I'm pretty sure it does require a working e-mail, because how would you register without a working e-mail ? blink That's unheard of in my book. (Voted yes.)
But you also must take into consideration that a good amount of multi's keep a lot of forums alive and able to keep going on and on. Nonetheless they are bad for the forums but still.

There are ways around random e-mails.
You could make it so they have to open the e-mail and do a verification code.
=-50% + multis

I doubt it, Multi's have enough time to spam forums all day, I believe they have the few extra moments to securely make a new e-mail.

Multi's are and always will be around guys, its just apart of the whole cycle of life forum stuff. Its great to attempt to get rid of them but it won't happen, I know you're not trying to stop it for good, just slow it down but it probably won't help too much.

Not if it damages the site, it ain't worth it if you're just adding things that are only doing little help at a time.

(Not saying it would, but still.)

I mean like what if it makes the site slower? Or makes it harder for Tramway to get things done? He wouldn't be able to really run test's on his other accounts for certain things if this happens really. (Well maybe, not really sure how much access he has). I'm just suggesting that it's not quite useful. I mean I voted yes, it would be nice but would it really slow them down? People find ways around things very quickly, and will exploit it.

50% of you are 30% of the users.

only way to stop multi's is to close off all open-registration, wich is the exact opposite of the point of teh forumz.

multis are just a fact of forum life. the less savvy ones dissapear after thier googled proxy list gets banned, and the true professionals masquerade as 2-5+ active members at a time.

just keep the banammer swinging for the obnoxious ones, and thats all that really matters imo.

NOU RICKY.
God I hate the "site load" excuse.
sleep
This won't effect it.
Won't hurt anything, all it will do is slow down/ stop some multis.

It will do no such thing Tyler happy. The smarter ones will always get around it and tell the dumber multi's its inevitable.
