What is the idea of gems? Can you sell them? I played this for so long got my first DK and stopped (gold is no more, but I still have 50 gems lol).

Gems are needed to buy stuff from the equipment shop (More advanced items)

You'll have to dk acouple more times to unlock the armor/ weapons in the shop.

It's also used when purchasing mounts.
