i have 4x slots
currently has 2x 1gb
should i get another 2x1gb
to have that dual channeling affect
i head about it
but not sure what it actually does

i would not worry about the ram...
if you want to game... just get a better graphics card and that should be good enough...
if you dont already have one that is...

other than that... just upgrade to win7... though there is nothing wrong with vista...

i dont have a graphics card atm
i have a buit in one with cpu
but i dont know what kind of graphics card is compataible
or my WW is enough to power the graphics card
might have to change that too

If you're playing heavy games, like world of warcraft as such you probably should go for the extra 2x 1gb for the better memory, also a decent or a half decent graphics card would make it even better. I've seen a few people play world of warcraft and there is some heavy lag on some points.

But if you're not doing anything which requires alot of memory, then i assume it would be a waist of money smile

graphics card is pci 16x i think
dont really know what is considered a decent or good graphics card

Dual channeling effect will just increase input/output of loaded processes, such as read/write the data, files etc.
If the goal to increase the speed of the some of game, you should read the game vendors minimum pc requirements.
If the game is old one or it does not understand multicore cpu's, changing the graphics card does not help much, end increasing of memory too.
But in your case, with OS like Vista which eat much amount of memory you should add additional 2Gb.
