I request that the rules start being enforced in the shoutbox. users are abusing the leniency provided by staff. every day since i have returned to this website there have been vulgarities and flames in the shoutbox. this is completely unacceptable.

Let me explain how a website works, how it is profitable, and what has an effect on that profitability.

HOW A WEBSITE WORKS:
using a unified code recognized by most browsers, a website is created using simple textual commands and mathmatical equations. users join a website, and the administrator or owner of said website then has the opportunity to profit off of the users, while providing the users with content they want.

HOW A WEBSITE IS PROFITABLE:
Websites make money through one of multiple ways. the ones implemented here are that of the advertisement, donation, and purchase. Advertisements are paid for by the company trying to advertise, they are usually based on the number of visitors to your website. and the website receives a certain currency amount for any activity garnered from their website. Donation, is asking the users of a website to donate to the owner of the website in order to compensate for operating costs such as server cost, hosting cost, and time and equipment. a site running off of this model requires a strong user base who enjoys the service provided and are willing to give to be able to continue enjoying the content.
last but not least there is the purchase style. this is where users buy a specific item, specific to the website (such as forum gold).

WHAT HAS AN EFFECT ON A WEBSITE'S PROFITABILITY:

Visitor being converted to user. Users willing to part with their extra income. Advertisers trying to target the same demographic as your website brings in.

Vulgarity, excessive degradation towards other members, lack of concept of authority, inability to use content on the website, and multiple other things affect a websites profitability.

TL;DR Version:

Having such a high amount of swearing and flaming going on in the shoutbox would easily turn away any legitimate users. the shoutbox is a window into the website that you do not need an account to see. so ANY visitor can see you folks making asses of yourself. thus making them less likely to actually join. which in turn lowers website profitability, internet presence, and makes it almost impossible to create an actual trading base.

THEREFORE, start enforcing the rules. whether you find it entertaining or not, it is still against the rules and therefore must be corrected.

If we started giving verbal or warn for every flame/spam in shoutbox we would be like d2jsp. Not that warn mean jackshit to half these members. Site made poor by whiny douches that trying to make thereself big as a tranny.

most the mods on here are garbage. That is an objective point of view. I dont take sides, i simply state facts and observations. Juggalette, as a mod keep your flames in private, you should already be warned for your public flaming as a mod and not being productive either. 90% of the S/A cases on here take about 30 minutes of dedication to figure out. Not oh here we will lock the accused and get back to it in a week. The good mods are always too busy which is a shame but understandable. Here is the deal, if you dont have the time for the members of the site, dont apply to be a mod.
